Pension (HOOPP) Enrollment Request

As a Part-Time employee, you have the option to enroll in the HOOPP pension plan at any time. Once this request form has been completed, we will enroll you the first day of the pay period following this request. HOOPP enrollment is mandatory for Regular Full-Time employees. If you are a new employee, or recently transferred to a Regular Full-Time position, you will be contacted regarding this and do not need to complete this form.

Your contributions will be deducted each pay period directly from your gross pay. For ever $1.00 that you contribute, your employer currently contributes $1.26 to the HOOPP fund. The contribution rates are:

  •  6.9% of your annualized earnings up to the year’s maximum pensionable earnings (YMPE)

  • 9.2% of your annualized earnings above the YMPE

  • The 2019 YMPE is $$66,600.

All contributions are invested in the HOOPP Fund. The monthly pension you will receive in retirement is determined using a formula that is based on your earnings and how much contributory service you have built in the Plan.
